If a taxpayer feels that the assessors have overstated the full and fair value of his or her property, he or she has the right to appeal the assessment. This must be done by filing an application for abatement, on a state-approved form available in the assessors' office, on or before the due date for payment of the third quarter (actual) tax bill. Specific information regarding the appeal process is contained on the back of the third quarter tax bill.
For questions about your property valuation, filing an appeal of the assessment, call the assessors' office at 781-275-0046
