COA DAY TRIPS
Our Trips Coordinator Lenore Dichard is happy to announce the following upcoming day trips:
Newport Flower Show
Saturday June 23 - $69.00
Join us in a feast for the senses at this year's Newport Flower Show at Rosecliff on Saturday, June 23. The Salsa theme reflects Latin American cultures with hot colors and exotic plants and floral designs. You will dine in the magnificence of the Atlantic Ocean and the famous cliff walk at the Atlantic Beach Club with menu choices of baked stuffed scrod or chicken breast w/tarragon mustard cream sauce. Menu choice and full payment must be made at time of sign up. The cost of this special day is $69.00 per person. Departure time is 8 a.m. and return will be at approximately 4:30 p.m. The bus will leave from the Bedford Town Hall parking lot in front of the Police Station.
Ocean State Tall Ships Festival
Saturday July 7 - $85.00
View the Tall Ships in comfort while cruising on The Majestic out of Newport Harbor. With a delicious buffet on the ship there is no more pleasant way to enjoy this summer's Ocean State Tall Ships Festival in Newport. Saturday, July 7 is the date and the cost is $85 for our comfortable motor coach transport, the cruise, and buffet lunch on the upper deck of The Majestic. There is minimal walking involved to board the ship, but there is a short flight of stairs to the top deck. The ship has enclosed air-conditioned decks as well as outside space so a summer day won't be uncomfortable even if the thermometer has climbed. Our sign up begins on Monday, May 7 and on July 7 we will leave for Newport at 9:15 a.m. for an 11:00 a.m. boarding and we will return at approximately 3:45 to 4:00 p.m. Please plan to pay the full amount at time of sign up.
Maine Lobsters & Lighthouses
Tuesday August 21 - $79.00
On Tuesday, August 21, join us as we go "downeast" on a summer day. Our tour begins with a stop at "When Pigs Fly" retail store in Kittery. Next we will go to the Lobster Barn to enjoy a lobster bake with all of the usual accompaniments such as steamers, chowder, etc. and beer, wine or soda. If lobster is not your thing you may choose ½ baked chicken. Our next stop will be Portland for a Light House Lovers 90 minute cruise around the busy harbor and innermost islands. There will be seven lighthouses in view including Maine's most photographed lighthouse - the Portland Head Light. Enjoy the day with all of the above (including transportation) for $79. Sign up will begin on Thursday, June 12 and payment is expected at time of sign up. We will depart from the Town Hall parking lot (near the police station) at 8:45 a.m. and return will be at approximately 6:15 p.m.

Many who come to the COA enjoy going on daytrips to historic, cultural, and just plain fun destinations throughout Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Connecticut and Maine. We have been to museums, on cruises, to flower shows, to the symphony and theater, and to the gems of New England's history. Here is a small album of day-trip happy memories.
