BECOME A FRIEND TODAY!!
The Friends of the Bedford Council on Aging (FBCOA) was established as a private, non-profit organization over 20 years ago to support the programs and services of the Bedford Council on Aging (COA). It is entirely supported by donations and fundraising.
Anyone is eligible to join the FBCOA. We have members of all ages who join to assist Bedford's older adults and take part in the many benefits of membership. Individuals may join for as little as $5 or $7 for a family. Membership application forms are available at the COA.
The FBCOA provides refreshments for the Council on Aging, operates the Fix It Shop, sponsors day trips, informational programs, Saturday movies and other events of the Council on Aging. Short meetings are held at 1:00 on the second Tuesday of the month and are followed with refreshments.
Besides knowing that they are supporting our town's elders, members receive a discount card good at many area businesses. FBCOA members are eligible for a $20 membership at BJ's ($45 value!). Membership benefits also include eligibility for overnight trips which are for FBCOA members only. Some of the more notable overnight trips in recent years have been to the Grand Canyon and Vegas, the Great Smoky Mountains, Myrtle Beach, and the Penn-Dutch country.
