The Department of Public Works would like to thank the Bedford community for their recycling efforts. Overall this past year, the Town of Bedford achieved a 27% recycling rate by diverting 1,684 tons of recycling materials from going to the incinerator and realizing a cost savings of $122,956.82 in disposal fees. With the Town's new automated refuse collection and expanded recycling program, we expect higher recycling rates and even less disposal costs.  Commingled recyclables (plastic, glass, and metal containers) are to be placed in the bin BEFORE placing paper recyclables on top of the bin. You may also place paper bags beside your recycling bin. Additional recycling bins are on sale at the Department of Public Works for $7 each.
