Our Mission: The primary function of the Department of Public Works (DPW) is to provide municipal services to residents, businesses, and visitors in Bedford.These services include, snow and ice removal, stormwater drainage, water and sewer services, vehicle fleet maintenance. Maintenance and improvement of roads and public property, maintenance of Springs Brook Park, cemetery maintenance, and engineering service.

Wilson Mill Dam Reconstruction
The Bedford Selectmen recently awarded a contract to New England Infrastructure of Hudson, Massachusetts to reconstruct the Wilson Mill Dam, improve site conditions and install a new canoe launch into the pond. This project is a result of the failing culvert and the Certificate of Non-Compliance issued by the Massachusetts Department of Dam Safety in 2008.
New England Infrastructure will be installing the erosion control system and removing trees starting April 30, 2012. After this date, the site will be closed to the public due to safety concerns with heavy equipment, open excavations and construction materials. The project should be complete by the end of this year.
