Traffic Enforcement

The Bedford Police Department realizes that traffic and pedestrian safety is our community's number one concern in our day-to-day operations and we continue to see the need for the police department to focus on making improvements into the future.  We currently have two Traffic Enforcement Officers who are dedicated to traffic related issues.  The Traffic Enforcement Unit is trained in Occupant Protection, Child Passenger Safety, Crash Reconstruction and mapping as well as various other enforcement areas.

The Traffic Enforcement Officers coordinate the department's efforts toward addressing the traffic issues and concerns of the Town. Traffic is an ongoing problem in many communities, but it is especially an issue for the residents of Bedford. To enhance the Traffic Enforcement Officers' effectiveness, the department will continue to seek out specialized training opportunities and enroll the officers in appropriate traffic related associations. Through these efforts we hope that the Traffic Enforcement Officers will improve the expertise in dealing with traffic issues.
