The hospital sites on our Medical Facilities Page offer support groups via their cancer centers.

Emerson Hospital Bethke Cancer Center, Concord, MA
There are many well-established support groups for individuals with cancer in the area.  The Emerson Hospital Breast Cancer Support Group provides emotional support and resource information to women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer. The group meets  twice monthly and is facilitated by a social worker. For more information and to register. 1-978-287-3189.

Beth Israel Deaconness Cancer Care Center, Boston
Oncology social workers offer an array of programs and support groups, cunseling and a community resource specialist to help with lodging, transportation, insurance coverage and transition to community-based services.

Dana-Farber/Brigham and Women's Cancer Center offers a variety of educational seminars and support groups to help patients and their families find the tools they need to regain a sense of control over their lives. Our support groups, which are geared to specific cancers and methods of treatment, allow patients to meet with one another and share information and moral support with the help of our staff to facilitate discussion. David B. Perini, Jr. Quality of Life Clinic at Dana-Farber Cancer
There are many long-term effects of childhood and adolescent cancer treatment. They may include heart problems, fertility problems, impaired growth, emotional difficulties, and learning disabilities. The clinic is a place where survivors can be checked for these and other conditions, as well as learn how to care for themselves to minimize future complications.

The services of the clinic are available to survivors of childhood or adolescent cancer who are concerned about the late effects of treatments. Patients must be at least two years off treatment and diagnosed at age 21 or younger.

Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston 
The Survivorship Program at the Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center is a new program open to any patient diagnosed with cancer.  The program is also available to families, friends and caregivers affected by a cancer diagnosis.  Contact the Survivorship Program at 617-724-1396

Mount Auburn Hospital Patient and Caregiver Support, Cambridge
The Mind/Body Medicine Program is a ten-week wellness program that introduces cancer patients to relaxation techniques, cognitive therapy, humor and music therapies, hope and spirituality, yoga, tai chi, and nutrition, including cancer-prevention diets and maintaining good nutrition during treatment. Newton-Wellesley Hospital Support Groups, Newton, MA
The Vernon Cancer Center offers support groups for cancer patients and survivors.  Attendees will gain support through sharing with other survivors about the impact of their illness.  The groups help patients cope with their diagnosis and make meaning of this illness in their lives.  617-219-1230

UMass Memorial Medical Center, Worcester, MA
UMass Memorial Medical Center , comprised of several hospital campuses is the clinical partner of the University of Massachusetts Medical School.  Support services such as oncology nursing, social work, nutritional counseling, home care coordination, educational seminars, support groups, an active volunteer program, and on-site American Cancer Society resource rooms are available to patients and their families.
