The Town of Bedford offers a variety of benefits to its employees and retirees. New hires are may elect health, dental and life insurance, flexible spending, and deferred compensation upon their hire. If you did not sign up for benefits as a new hire, current employees are not eligible to enroll in benefits again until open enrollment (April to May) unless there is a qualifying event.

Town of Bedford Benefits for Active Employees
The Town offers Delta Dental Insurance for active employees. As a new employee, your dental insurance begins on your first day of employment. You have 30 days from your start date to enroll in dental insurance. The Dental plan runs on a calendar year.

The Town offers insurance through the Group Insurance Commission (GIC). Health insurance begins based on the start date, please see the chart below. Employees have 21 days from their start date to enroll via the online portal. To enroll dependents, marriage and/or birth certificates must be provided.
