To assist and support Bedford residents in need, the Town of Bedford provides an ongoing Food Bank service. The Food Bank is run by the Department of Health and Human Services and operates out of the Town Center Building (yellow building behind Town Hall) at 12 Mudge Way on the Town Campus. This is a service of the Town of Bedford and available to all households for whom accessing no-cost nutritious food and household supplies is helpful. In addition to pantry staples, the Food Bank offers a wide variety of fresh produce, meat and vegetarian protein, dairy products, diapers, feminine care, pet food, as well as household products.
To access the Drive Thru Food Bank, at 12 Mudge Way please proceed to the rear of the building with the large parking lot (Council on Aging main entrance). The schedule for the Town Center Drive Thru Food Bank is Thursdays from 4:00 - 5:30 pm.
When residents pull up in their car, a volunteer places the bags in the car trunk, back cargo area or back seat. Residents do not get out of their vehicle, though residents who are on foot without a vehicle will be able to receive a bundle.
The separate Food Bank delivery system continues to operate for homebound seniors, and disabled residents. If you are a homebound resident and in need of food assistance, please e-mail email@example.com or call 781-275-7727.
The Town is not currently accepting food donations. If you are able, the Town welcomes financial donations to support the Food Bank (Donate to Emergency Relief Fund Here) or mail a check made out to the "Town of Bedford" to Town of Bedford Emergency Relief Fund, c/o Finance Department, 10 Mudge Way, Bedford, MA 01730).
Thank you to the Bedford Food Pantry, the Greater Boston Food Bank, Chip In Farm (Bedford), Flatbread Co (Bedford), FoodLink (Arlington), Gaining Ground (Concord), and donors to the Bedford Emergency Relief Fund for the continued support of this well needed effort which serves upwards of 150 families each week.
The Bedford Food Bank service is intended for Bedford residents of all ages for whom provision of food and other supplies will support the health and well-being of the household.
