At its scheduled meeting on January 24, 2023 the Planning Board will continue two public hearings:
- The Planning Board's proposed amendment to the Zoning Bylaw relating to two-family dwellings
The background to this lies in the recommendations of the Housing Study led by the Select Board and Planning Board as follow-on to the Comprehensive Plan of 2012. The Study recommends a number of strategies to diversify the town's housing stock and better meet demographic and economic needs. There are very few remaining opportunities to build two-family dwellings under the current bylaw. The amendment would increase such opportunities while applying constraints, including size restrictions designed to roughly equate to the larger single-family houses being built today.
- The application for a Planned Residential Development special permit on land at 229, 251A and 251F Old Billerica Road.
The plans for the development have been revised once and there may be further information supplied before the meeting.
Materials may be viewed on the Planning page of the website, under "Planning Board Agenda Materials" or may be requested by email to Planning staff cperry@bedfordma.gov or afields@bedfordma.gov
The meeting will be held remotely and will commence at 7:00pm. The agenda will be posted at least 48 hours in advance and will include details for accessing the meeting.
