Online Permitting

Online Permitting Is Here!

The Town of Bedford Code Enforcement Office is happy to announce that you can now apply for permits online using Permit Eyes permitting software.  Starting June 8, 2020, contractors and homeowners can file permits electronically and upload plans and other documents as well.  Some projects may require both electronic and paper filing for technical review purposes; if that is the case, the inspector will notify you via the ‘Chat’ function found within the software.

Please read the Topic links below starting with the ‘Get Started’ link to create your account and then learn how to navigate through the program all the way up to paying online.  If you have any questions, please feel free to call the Code Enforcement Office at (781) 275-7446.  There will be a learning curve for both staff and applicants as we navigate through this new software so please be patient!

  • The fourth tab is the ISSUE PERMIT tab.  Once the fee has been paid, the inspector will issue the permit and you will be notified that it is ready to print.  Once signed in, you can click this tab and then the PRINT button to print the permit.

  • Once payment has been made and the permit is issued, the contractor or homeowner will be able to print the permit from their office or home.  The permit must be kept at the job site at all times as there are signature boxes for the inspectors to sign when they do their inspections.
  • All inspections must be scheduled by either calling the main office at (781) 275-7446 or emailing the inspector directly.  Please be aware that due to the COVID-19 crisis, inspector’s hours in the office have been modified until further notice; please call the office for more information.
