If you are caring for an elderly relative, you are not alone. A recent national study showed that about one in four households care for an elderly person either in their home or elsewhere. While services and supports exist, it can be overwhelming to determine where you should begin. The Council on Aging has put together some resources to assist you.

"If an Elder Depends on You..." is the name of a brochure we prepared for Bedford's caregivers. Click here to read it online, or visit the COA to pick up a printed copy.  It discusses evaluating needs, arranging and paying for services, and local resources available to you. We have also created a Caregiver Resource bulletin board located at the COA where you can easily access information about various supports groups and programs available.

Also see the listings of programs in our announcements and calendar. Many of our informational programs are of special interest to caregivers. Anyone of any age is welcome to attend.

We at the Council on Aging are dedicated to serving your needs. Our Social Worker, Danika Castle, is available Monday through Friday either by phone at: 781-275-6825 or in-person, by appointment to discuss your individual needs and available resources to assist you.

We hope to hear from you soon!
