Friends of the COA

The Friends of the Bedford Council on Aging (FBCOA) was established as a private, non-profit 501c (3) organization over 20 years ago to financially support the programs and services of the Bedford Council on Aging (COA). It is entirely supported by donations and fundraising.

Anyone of any age is eligible to join the FBCOA.  We have members of all ages joining to assist Bedford's older adults and take part in the many benefits of membership. Individuals may join for as little as $5 or $7 for a family. Membership application forms are available at the COA on the FBCOA table and in the monthly COA Connections Newsletter.

Please Note:  Seniors do not have to be a member of the FBCOA to attend programs and trips at the COA.

The FBCOA routinely provides refreshments for the Council on Aging, helps operate the Fix It Shop, sponsors day trips, informational programs, Saturday/Evening movies and other events of the Council on Aging. Short meetings are held at 1:00pm on the second Tuesday of the month and members are encouraged to attend.

Besides knowing that they are supporting our town's elders, members receive a discount card good at several area businesses. FBCOA members are eligible for a $35 membership at BJ's ($50 value!).
