At the November 2017 Special Town Meeting, Bedford voted to establish a goal of achieving an 80% reduction in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 2050 and to develop a plan to achieve that goal. The town established a Net Zero Advisory Council to oversee the effort and engaged a consulting firm, Peregrine Energy Group, to support it. The Advisory Council established three working groups: Residential, Municipal, and Commercial. The Council conducted a public forum to collect public feedback on June 20, 2019. This report summarizes the work of the Advisory Council and its recommended plan to meet the town’s GHG reduction goal. It was presented to Selectmen on October 21.
