Bedford Public Works has hired Precision Concrete Cutting to address concrete sidewalk trip hazards in the Town Center. Starting on Tuesday, October 29, the contractor will be working along portions of The Great Road, South Road, and Concord Road for a period of four to five days. Utilizing specialized equipment, areas of raised concrete will be cut down to eliminate noticeable lips at joints or cracks. Each location takes about 15 minutes to shave down, and the sidewalk will remain open and accessible. Not only does this type of project bring the sidewalk back to ADA compliance, but it delays a more costly full panel replacement.
