New Recycling Cart Size Options Available Fall 2025

Do you find yourself running out of room in your recycling cart each week? Beginning this Fall, DPW is introducing new recycling cart size options to better meet the needs of all residents.

Residents will be able to choose from the following recycling cart sizes:

  • Standard Size: 64-gallon cart (default for most households)
  • Larger Size: 96-gallon cart – ideal for households that consistently produce more recyclable material than can fit in the standard cart. A one-time swap fee of $75 and an annual service fee apply.
  • Smaller Size: 35-gallon cart – available at no cost, on a case-by-case basis, for those for whom the standard cart presents a hardship.

To request a different cart size, residents must complete a Service Level Change Form. Changes in service levels will take effect with the start of the new billing period on October 1st

Please note that a one-time fee of $75 per cart will apply to cart swap requests, excluding those granted under the hardship exception.

For more information or to request a cart size change, please visit the Town website. A list of acceptable materials for the curbside recycling cart program can be found here
